| Variation of Ramen |
 |
| As long as it is the ramen, it must have the word "ramen" in its name. There are two cases that some words
are added before the word "ramen" ; one is to express its seasonigns
of the soup like "Shio Ramen" or "Miso Ramen", and
the other is to show its toppings. But there are two exceptions shown below. |
| Wantanmen |
 |
Wantanmen is ramen with "Wantan" which is dumplings.(see the
left photo.)
It used to be called "Wantan Ramen" as the rule of topping goes.
But as time went by, people started calling it with its shorten name "Wantanmen."
Some ramen shops are still offering the menu called just "Wantan"
which consists of dumplings in the same soup as ramen.(No noodles!) Needless
to say, but keep in mind "Wantan" is NEVER, NEVER ramen though
"Wantanmen" is ramen. |
| Chashumen *put the cursor on the photo. Ramen photo will appear for comparison. |
 |
Chashumen is ramen with extra slices of Chashu which is the main topping
of usual ramen. Same as "Wantanmen", Chashumen is used to be
called "Chashu Ramen" and shorten to be "Chashumen."
Usually, Chashumen has 4-5 slices of Chashu while normal ramen has one
or two. Different from Wantanmen, no ramen shop offers a menu called just
"Chashu" which consists of "Chashu" and soup only! |
