Before the Internet became this easy to access, most ramen fans had to rely on ramen information provided by mass medium. At that time, there was almost no mean to know ramen shops that rejected exposing themselves in mass medium. However, the advent of Internet spotlights ramen shops that used to be in obscurity. Eleven Foods is one of the most precious discovery brought by the internet. Despite of its rare exposure (it is rejecting!) in mass medium, Eleven Foods is now well-known among Ramen fans in Tokyo and recognized as one of the most "unique" ramen shop.
As if hidden from the public, Eleven Foods stands along a back lane in lonely surroundings in which there is no restaurant or other eating-place. Even if you can manage to reach the shop, it is difficult to tell they are serving ramens at the first glance, since it looks like just a shelter. The shop does not have any decoration or even a door. Despite of its inconvenient location and its shabby shop appearance, at around lunchtime, regular customers, most of that are blue-collar workers working nearby, gather for bowls of ramen making the place crowded.
The ramen at Eleven Foods looks roughly cooked, but its taste is more delicate than it looks. Its broth is mainly extracted pork bones and is multi-layered with various vegetables. (No one except the cooks can tell what the exact ingredients are!) Its yellow noodles are thick but the texture is rather soft. The main characteristics of ramen at Eleven Foods is its toppings, which consist of wakame seaweed, Jew's-ears, large Chashu, and chopped raw onions which are not usually topped on ramens.

Ordering system is rather simple. After waiting in a line (if necessary), you sit and order when asked. Menu has only 4 items, such as Ramen, Chashu-men, Oomori (big helping) Ramen, and Oomori Chashu. Sometimes you might witness the scene that the chef is speaking to someone in a waiting line. He is asking whether some would take already cooked ramen or not, because he usually cooks more bowls than orders to shorten the waiting time. If you do not understand what he is speaking, our suggestion is just to ignore and wait for your turn for ordering after seated.
Payment system at Eleven Foods is quite unique. You put money for what you ate in the can/tray placed on the end of the counter. If you need change, you are free to pick up by yourself. But do not take too much! It is illegal.
