| Ooshima Ramen |
| Oshima Ramen is part of Keiji Oshima's Ramen in Tokyo, Japan. Oshima's
opened here about 1 year ago (I still can't beleive we have a real Ramen
shop in Denver). The food, service and value are great at Oshimas. If
I were to recommend one thing there, it is the Shoyu Ramen with Gyoza lunch.
It is out of this world. Their Ramen and fried rice is very good
too. My only wish is they would offer curry rice like in Japan. Their location is abit hard to see from Hampden. It is in the same parking lot as Tiffany Plaza, but east of the main mall, over where the Fresh Fish company is. Oshimas is right next to World Savings. (Posted by Mark. S , 2001.6.26) |
| I dragged my boyfreind to Oshima and introduced him to the joy of ramen! I had
not had real ramen in a while-- I used to live in Colorado Springs and our one
ramen house first tried offering sushi as well as ramen, then closed altogether.
Ohshima is small but clean and cheerful. You sit around a counter, which is a
little unusual to Americans, but we adapted. There are a few small tables, but
we were encouraged to sit at the counter. On the walls are enlargements of the
many favorable reviews they have gotten from newspapers in town, as well as
pictures of their shops in Japan. In Japan the chain is called Ohshima after the
owner. (For some reason they dropped the first H for the Denver location.) I had
some chaisiu ramen (shoyu ramen with extra pork slices) and my boyfreind had the
kaizen ramen, which had many different types of seafood. I don't like seafood
very much apart from shrimp, but my boyfreind loves seafood and found it to be
very delicous! My ramen was also excellent. They also had some Japanese beers
and Japanese ice cream in green tea, plum, ginger and red bean flavors (although
we were too stuffed to try any ice cream).
