| I orderd the Nagasaki Champon, which is thier specialty. They had different
sizes, and different combinations (with Gyoza, for example) and even a spicy
version. I ordered the Large sized Champon (non-spicy). It came with a big bowl filled with noodles and vegetables. The vegetable ingredients were: cabbage, bean sprouts, corn, green peas, and a little bit of carrot for color. The meat included small slices of beef, small shrimp, squid and imitation crabmeat. The broth was rich and tasted of deep chicken stock flavor. The noodles were similar to regular Ramen noodles. What I liked was the overall taste of the dish. I did not particularly like the cabbage as some pieces were cut too big (1 inch squares). And the noodle was cooked a little too soft than I'm used to with regular Ramen dishes. I think the reason is most of the servers and workers there were not Japanese (they were Mexican). I think only one of the main cook was Japanese. So that's why some of the noodle was cooked too soft. But overall it was a delicious dish that should be very good if it was more authentic. (Posted by tanspace, 2002. 7.3) |
