Rozan
I had soy sauce ramen. The soup was generic and the pork was most un-chasyuu like. I believe I had better instant ramen. I don't understand why another review says it is comparable to Santa.
With Santa ramen only 3 blocks away, there is absolutely no reason to eat ramen at Rozan.

This is a speical place with a wonderful owner, Ishikawa-san.  The restaurant was convereted from a 'sushi' restaurant to a Japanese noodle restaurant in January 2001.
The restaruant is in downtown San Mateo is attractlively furnished and the ramen is outstanding.  It competes well against Santa, also in San Mateo, or Iroha in San Francisco.
Try it, you won't be disappointed !!!
